동사, 형용사, 명사 + 아/어서 그런지 / (이)라서 그런지

어떤 사실에 대한 정확하지 않은 이유를 추측해서 말할 때 사용합니다.

 Used when you are guessing the possible reason for a situation, without being completely sure.

1) 요즘 일이 많아서 그런지 피곤해요. Maybe it’s because I have a lot of work, I feel tired.

2) 어제 많이 걸어서 그런지 아침에 다리가 아파요. Maybe it’s because I walked a lot yesterday, my legs hurt this morning.

3) 친구가 바빠서 그런지 전화를 안 받아요. Maybe it’s because my friend is busy, they don’t answer the phone.

4) 스트레스를 받아서 그런지 머리가 아파요. Maybe it’s because I’m stressed, my head hurts.

5) 날씨가 너무 더워서 그런지 머리가 아파요. Maybe it’s because the weather is too hot, my head hurts.

6) 피곤해서 그런지 머리가 아파요. Maybe it’s because I’m tired, my head hurts.

⚠ 주의사항 | Notes

-았/었/겠 같은 과거나 미래 시제와 함께 쓸 수 없습니다. Do not use this expression with past (-았/었-) or future (-겠-) tense in the first clause.

과거·미래 시제는 문장 뒤에서 사용할 수 있습니다. Past or future tense can be used in the second clause.

 

❌ 남자 친구를 만났어서 그런지 기분이 좋았어요. (Incorrect)

✅ 남자 친구를 만나서 그런지 기분이 좋았어요. Maybe it’s because I met my boyfriend, I felt good.

❌ 친구가 오후에 남자 친구를 만나겠어서 그런지 기분이 좋아 보여요. (Incorrect)

✅ 친구가 오후에 남자 친구를 만나서 그런지 기분이 좋아 보여요. Maybe it’s because she’s going to meet her boyfriend, she looks happy.

 

앞의 상황 때문에 뒤의 결과가 생겼다고 생각해서 사용하는 문법이기 때문에 뒷문장은 현재나 과거를 주로 사용합니다.

Since this grammar expresses a possible cause, the second clause usually uses present or past tense.

✅ 운동을 열심히 해서 그런지 살이 많이 빠졌어요. Maybe it’s because I exercised hard, I lost a lot of weight.

✅ 시험 기간이라서 그런지 도서관에 사람이 많아요. Maybe it’s because it’s exam season, the library is crowded.
